Background
Erin grew up in western Michigan but graduated from Van Wert High School in northwest Ohio. She was the kind of youngster who knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up – a lawyer. And not just any lawyer, but specifically a domestic relations attorney. That’s a goal Erin strived for her entire life, and in 2022, she fulfilled her lifelong dream when she passed the bar exam.
Experience
Erin didn’t wait for law school to start getting legal experience. Her passion for the law at a young age led her to start working with a Dayton law firm during her senior year of college. Upon graduation, the firm hired her as a legal secretary.
Erin stayed one year at the Dayton firm, then gained another two years of experience as a legal secretary specializing in family law at a general law firm in Greene County, Ohio. She continued gaining professional experience while she attended law school at Penn State as a member of the Family Law Clinic, representing individuals in divorce, custody and domestic violence matters.
After passing the bar in 2022, Erin returned to the same Dayton-area general practice firm where she started, only this time, as an attorney specializing in domestic relations and family law. After two more years of experience there, Erin joined Kirkland & Sommers Co. LPA , one of southwestern Ohio’s leading law firms specializing in family law.
When She’s Not Working
Erin enjoys visiting National Parks in the U.S. and Europe. Her goal is to visit every U.S. National Park and every state capital. She also loves to read, especially non fiction genres like biographies, memoirs, and histories of England.
